Shaw & Co., L.P. seeks full-time Software Developer, DESIM to work in its office in New York, New York. Responsibilities: Research, build, deploy, and maintain distributed real- time software to support trading, modeling, front-office analytics, and operations. Develop software using Python, Perl, and C++. Guide and oversee software projects performed by junior team members. Leverage object- oriented design methodologies, design patterns, and other software best practices. Interface with non-proprietary systems, including operating systems, databases, and real-time data feeds, as well as systems from counterparties. Perform mathematical and quantitative analyses, including the application of numerical techniques to develop statistical models for our computerized financial trading strategies. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field of study, plus three (3) years of experience with programming in Python, Perl, and C++; object- oriented and functional programming; software design patterns; debugging software in a UNIX environment; parallel computing frameworks including OpenMP or MPI; and mathematical optimization.
