PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: As the Extension State Specialist for Disaster Health and Wellness Chief, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating disaster health and wellness programs within the extension services of your state. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:&nbsp;

<li>Conduct educational workshops, training sessions, and public presentations to raise awareness about disaster health and wellness topics.</li>
<li>Develop educational materials, resources, and tools to support community members in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters.</li>
<li>Foster partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as community organizations, to promote collaboration and maximize the impact of disaster health and wellness efforts.</li>
<li>Conduct needs assessments to identify the specific disaster health and wellness challenges and priorities within different communities.</li>
<li>Analyze data and information gathered through assessments to inform the development of targeted intervention strategies and programs.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;

<li>Master’s degree in public health, emergency management, community health, or a related field required. A Ph.D. degree is preferred.</li>

<li>Knowledge of public health principles, community engagement strategies, and disaster response and recovery processes.</li>
<li>Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey information to diverse audiences. Proficiency in data analysis and program evaluation techniques.</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and collaborations with various stakeholders.</li>
<li>Flexibility to travel within the state and work evenings or weekends as needed.</li>

State Specialist Disaster Health and Wellness Chief

The University of Wisconsin (UW) Primary Care Research Fellowship is recruiting fellows to join the Fall 2023 cohort. This post-doctoral research fellowship is administratively housed within the UW Dept. of Family Medicine and Community Health and led by faculty from this department as well as from General Internal Medicine and General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. The fellowship has been continuously funded by the Health Resources and Service Administration as a T32 for over 30 years, and typically supports 2 years of research career training.&nbsp;&nbsp;
A principal objective of the Primary Care Research Fellowship is to train primary care physicians and PhD scientists interested in careers in medical research related to the organization, delivery, or effectiveness of primary health care and preventive medicine.&nbsp;
Research project completion, published papers, and grant proposals are the main goals for fellows. The fellowship is open to physicians or PhD-level health professionals aiming for research-centered careers who could benefit from 2 years of protected time, intensive mentorship, and research support. Areas of scholarly focus should be related to primary care but are otherwise not restricted. We encourage fellows to aim for NIH funding, and our trainees have received K-grants, R-grants, or other prestigious awards.&nbsp;

The University of Medicine and Health Sciences-St. Kitts (UMHS) invites applications for a full time faculty position in Gross and Developmental Anatomy.
The University of Medicine and Health Sciences is a state-of-the-art medical school located on the exotic Caribbean Island of St. Kitts.&nbsp; Faculty have a unique opportunity to become involved in the growth and success of the institution, and most importantly an opportunity to educate and nurture a new generation of physicians.
Gross Anatomy is taught in the first semester and is focused on team-teaching and, as such, faculty have adequate time to engage in research and/or writing. The UMHS academic year has three semesters; therefore, teaching responsibilities occur throughout the year.&nbsp; UMHS has a state-of-the-art anatomy dissection laboratory which allows a 6/1 student to&nbsp;cadaver.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Responsibilities include:
1. Developing and providing students with approved syllabi and learning objectives. 2. Organizing, preparing, and regularly updating course content 3. Delivering effective lectures utilizing a variety of teaching techniques and state of the art &nbsp; teaching technologies. 4. Preparing and administering examinations, grading in a timely manner, and providing feedback to students. 5. Focusing on student success by being available to students during non-teaching time. 6. Serving on faculty committees. 7. Supervising students in a variety of activities, including but not limited to, problem based learning activities, and human-computer simulation.. 8.  Minimum qualifications:

Course description:&nbsp;Gross and Developmental Anatomy focuses on the gross structure of organs and their function, and through clinical correlations, relates each to clinical medicine.&nbsp; An Anatomical Learning Resource Center has been established to utilize computer-based instruction, anatomical models, radiographic materials as well as supervised laboratory sessions dissecting various parts of the human body.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Students study the structure and function of all organs with some interaction with cellular structure.&nbsp; This course incorporates an understanding of how embryological processes give rise to the mature body form.&nbsp; When this course is complete, each student will have extensive knowledge of the gross anatomy and development of the entire human body as it relates clinically to the practice of medicine.
Salary and Benefits: &nbsp;The position is full time and the salary is commensurate with teaching experience and degree.&nbsp; The faculty member is provided with an excellent health care plan which covers both US and St. Kitts health care. &nbsp; Since there are three fifteen week semesters the faculty member has seven weeks’ vacation a year which comes as the last two weeks in May, August, and three weeks in December.&nbsp; Faculty are also provided an annual one week leave with expenses to attend a pre-approved professional convention.
