Assistant Editor The Taos News is an independently owned newspaper that has been recognized as the best large weekly in the U.S. by the National Newspaper Association for three of the last four years. We are seeking an ambitious and talented journalist to join our reporting staff. Successful candidates will be able to juggle multiple assignments at once, respond quickly to breaking news and will work well both independently and with a skilled team. We have an unusually large staff for a community newspaper and take great pride in serving our community through our award-winning work. In addition to reporting, a primary responsibility of this position is to fill in for the editor during their absence. While the editor is out of the office, the assistant editor will oversee eight employees in the newsroom and be responsible for publishing the newspaper. A solid understanding of editing, layout, and pagination is required. Sales Account Manager Essential Job Functions (Full Description):
<ul>
<li>Maintain a continual focus on safety and injury prevention for self and co-workers, immediately addressing or bringing to management any unsafe conditions that are identified.</li>
<li>Thorough understanding of customer requirements, expectations, and schedules.</li>
<li>Thorough understanding of SPC’s production capabilities for digital printing, offset printing, finishing, mailing, and logistics.</li>
<li>Thorough technical and commercial print industry expertise.</li>
<li>Thorough industry and market knowledge and insight to include key competitors, key partnerships, prospective customers, and market pricing for all print formats&nbsp;</li>
<li>Seek and obtain new business based on SPC’s operational and logistical capabilities to include but not limited to digital printing, mail services, printing, and finishing/bindery.</li>
<li>Obtain detailed and accurate job specs for all new jobs, for completion of capability review, capacity review, and quoting.</li>
<li>Complete capability and capacity review with operational leadership (Pre-press, Press, Post-press) for all new prospective jobs.</li>
<li>Work directly with Finance team to generate costing and quotations for new business.</li>
<li>Work with Finance team to complete credit check on all new clients.</li>
<li>Document and communicate new job quotations to prospective clients.</li>
<li>Knowledge and understanding of SPC’s profitability- costs vs. customer pricing for each account.</li>
<li>Monitor quality of jobs running on press and in post-press, communicating any necessary adjustments or issues to operational staff.</li>
<li>Manage needs, concerns, and expectations of all customers.</li>
<li>Document and communicate price increases or adjustments to customers and Finance.</li>
<li>Provide Internal Sales and Finance with pricing lists for accurate billing, and verify accuracy of billing documents.</li>
<li>Resolve customer billing disputes.</li>
</ul>

<li>Undergraduate degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or other related major, or a technical degree in a related field</li>
<li>Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the offset printing industry</li>
<li>Current clientele portfolio</li>
<li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.</li>
<li>Strong financial acumen</li>
<li>Ability to work both independently and in a team environment&nbsp;</li>
