KSTU &amp; KUPX, the Scripps-owned television stations in vibrant Salt Lake City, Utah, are on the lookout for an experienced and innovative Senior Director of Sales. You will play a crucial role in reaching our revenue goals while serving as the home station for Utah’s new NHL team, the Utah Hockey Club. Collaborate with our award-winning production team to devise compelling, multi-platform campaigns that connect our clients with their customers in meaningful ways. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with the General Manager and other Scripps managers to establish and accomplish the station's objectives.</li>
<li>Create sales budgets and project/forecast weekly station revenue to achieve annual targets.</li>
<li>Manage all broadcast and digital inventory; set and adjust station rates to maximize revenue.</li>
<li>Oversee the sale of advertising time to clients and agencies, which may require local and national travel.</li>
<li>Maintain high visibility in the market by meeting with clients, advertisers, and community organizations.</li>
<li>Develop best practices with other sales leaders to optimize team performance.</li>
<li>Initiate and manage new business projects and local station initiatives.</li>
<li>Train, develop, and motivate the local sales team to meet revenue goals and build a pipeline of future talent.</li>
<li>Provide training and developmental coaching for sales managers covering local, national, and general sales management.</li>
<li>Handle all personnel issues effectively.</li>
<li>Collaborate with traffic system personnel to manage airtime inventory efficiently while approving all orders.</li>
<li>Set goals with the station's national rep firm and hold them accountable for performance.</li>
<li>Assess local market positions and value through competitors' strengths and weaknesses.</li>
<li>Maintain integrity in all business dealings.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.</li>
<li>Generally, 10+ years of proven success in media sales, including at least 3 years in management.</li>
<li>Experience with inventory, pricing, and political advertising guidelines is required.</li>
<li>Experience in strategic account management, broadcast inventory, and digital/video capabilities.</li>
<li>Availability for some travel.</li>
<li>Valid driver's license with a good driving record, along with the ability to provide proof of insurance aligned with company requirements.</li>
