<p>Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, is accepting applications for Continuing Lecturer Flight Instructor positions beginning in fall 2023. This appointment is in the School of Aviation &amp; Transportation Technology, the Purdue Polytechnic Institute. Essential job duties include the following: (1) Instruct undergraduate flight lab courses in aviation technology; (2) Assess student performance; (3) Conduct Part 61 and 141 Stage Checks; (4) Mentor students and instructors; (5) Supervise night and Sunday flight activities; (6) Participate in projects and assignments at the discretion of the Chief Flight Instructor; (7) Demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and transformational education.</p>
<p>Applicants must possess and earned Bachelor's degree at time of hire,&nbsp;or completed within one year of hire, in aviation and transportation technology or related field; must have at least 500 hours of total flight time and 200 hours of dual instruction given, or equivalent teaching experience and/or relevant industry experience; must have demonstrated ability to teach, manage a classroom and course; applicants must possess a current FAA issued Flight Instructor Certificate with an instrument rating (CFII), Multi engine instructor rating is preferred, and at least a third class medical.&nbsp; An instructor who meets the flight time qualifications of FAA CFR 141.36(d) is preferred.&nbsp; Candidates must have the ability to work in the US without immigration sponsorship from Purdue University.</p>
