Cosmetic Formulation Chemist

JOS. H. LOWENSTEIN AND SONS, INC. is looking for a Cosmetic Formulation Chemist.

Location of Employment: Brooklyn, New York

Hours of Work Per Week: Full-time, 40 Hours, 5 Days

Salary: $ 115,648.00 per year

Job Duties:

• Develop and refine cosmetic formulas.
• Conduct stability tests and resolve stability issues.
• Monitor formula quality and ensure conformity to standards.
• Perform quality control tests and develop nonstandard tests as needed.
• Identify suitable raw materials and technologies for product development.
• Prepare detailed technical reports summarizing methods and findings.
• Provide customer support and troubleshooting for commercial products.
• Ensure products meet stability, safety, and microbiological testing requirements.
• Facilitate the transition of products from laboratory batches to production.
• Collaborate with chemical scientists or engineers to analyze research projects and interpret results.
• Improve or customize products, equipment, processes, or analytical methods.
• Compile and analyze test data to assess efficiency and diagnose issues.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Education Requirement:
  Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a foreign equivalent.

• Experience Requirement:
  A minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a chemist in the personal care industry.
