Senior Valuation Specialist (SG Americas Operational Services, LLC, New York, NY)

Participate in valuation controls governance for several trading strategies including Rates Exotic and Securitized Products. Interact with Valuation team, share knowledge with other finance teams and build trust and partnership with trading desks and market risk partners. Take ownership of some of the calculation, analysis and reporting of the different fair value adjustments (Reserves, Independent Price Verification, Day One) and prudent value adjustments [PVA] and participate in the on-going effort of streamlining the processes of the team. Provide valuation expertise on one or several asset classes among Fixed Income, Interest Rate and Forex or Securitized Products. Provide analysis on market evolution, investigate local valuation issues and provide opinion on new products valuation methodology and setup. Provide support to the Front Office on valuation methodologies and adjustments on all the activities originated in America and meet with internal and external auditors on selected activities. Provide application or analytical support to traders on issues such as valuations or data. Analyze pricing or risks of trading products. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to SG Americas Operational Services, LLC, 245 Park Ave., New York, NY 10167. Salary: $115,000 - $195,000 per year.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Business Administration or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Quantitative Analyst, Valuation Analyst, or any occupation, job title, position performing financial instruments valuation for quantitative financial products.

Must also have the following: 5 years of professional experience working with financial markets in a regulatory environment, performing Valuations Control, Product Control, or Market Risk. 5 years of professional experience performing internal risk analysis on Fixed Income, Interest Rate, Forex, Equity Derivatives, and Exotic Derivatives. 5 years of professional experience performing financial instruments valuation (including Equities or Rates Exotic derivatives) and Asset Backed Products. 5 years of professional experience utilizing accounting principles relating to valuing financial instruments (including Fair Value requirements). 5 years of professional experience utilizing Microsoft Office tools (including Excel, Word, and Power Point). 5 years of professional experience utilizing programming languages including Python, C #, Alteryx, SQL, or VBA.
